‖ peritrochium Mech.|pɛrɪˈtrəʊkɪəm| [mod.L., a. Gr. περιτρόχιον a wheel (see prec.); ἄξων ἐν περιτροχίῳ = axis in peritrochio, the wheel-and-axle.] A wheel, as constituting part of the mechanical power called the wheel-and-axle. axis in peritrochio: see axis1 1 a.
