peonidin Chem.|piːˈɒnɪdɪn| [ad. G. päonidin (Willstätter & Nolan 1915, in Ann. d. Chem. CDVIII. 136), f. päonin peonin: see -idin.] An anthocyanidin (usu. isolated as the reddish brown chloride, C16H13O6Cl) that is the aglycone of peonin.
