appressorium Bot.|æprɛˈsɔərɪəm| Pl. -ia. [mod.L., f. L. appress-, ppl. stem of apprimĕre, f. ad ad- + premĕre to press: see -orium.] The organ by which certain fungi attach themselves to their hosts.
