naringin Chem.|nəˈrɪndʒɪn| [ad. G. naringen (E. Hoffmann, at the suggestion of Flückiger, 1879 in Arch. der Pharm. CCXIV. 140), f. naringi, given as Skr. for orange n.1, a.: see -in1.] A bitter glucoside, C27H32O14, of a tricyclic alcohol which is found in shaddock, grapefruit, and certain types of orange.
