melder Sc.|ˈmɛldə(r)| Also 5 meltyre, 6 meldir, 8 meldar. [a. ON. meldr:—prehistoric *malidro-z, f. root of mala to grind.] A quantity of meal ground at one time. By Douglas used to render L. mola (salsa), the mixture of meal and salt with which Roman sacrifices were sprinkled.
