diclinous, a. Bot.|ˈdaɪklɪnəs| [f. F. dicline (1793 in Hatz.-Darm.) or Bot.L. Diclines pl. (Jussieu 1779), f. Gr. δι- twice, double (di-2) + κλίνη bed, couch: see -ous. (A. L. de Jussieu gave the name Diclines irregulares to the 15th class of his arrangement of the Natural Orders.)] Having the stamens and pistils on separate flowers, either on the same plant (monœcious), or on separate plants (diœcious). Also said of the flowers (= unisexual).
