pro-nuncio, n. R. C. Ch.|ˌprəʊˈnʌnʃɪəʊ, -sɪəʊ| Also with capital initials and occas. as one word. [ad. It. pro-nunzio: see pro-1 4 and nuncio n.] A papal ambassador to a country which does not accord the Pope's ambassador automatic precedence over all other ambassadors.
