Loire, n.|lwɑː(r)| [The name of a river in France, which rises in the Massif Central and flows 1,015 km (630 miles) north and west to the Atlantic at St.-Nazaire.] Used attrib. and absol. to designate wines of diverse types made from grapes grown in the valleys of the Loire and of its tributaries.
