linoleic, a. Chem.|lɪnəʊˈliːɪk| [f. L. līn-um + ole-um oil + -ic.] linoleic acid: an acid found as a glyceride in linseed and other oils. Hence liˈnoleate, a salt of linoleic acid. So liˈnolein [-in1] (see quot. 1900).
