xylidine Chem.|ˈzaɪlɪdaɪn| [f. xyl-ene or xyl-ic + -id4 + -ine5.] a. An amine-derivative of xylene, homologous with aniline, occurring in several isomeric modifications having the formula C6H3(CH3)2NH2; used in the preparation of artificial dyes. Called also xyˈlidamine. b. = xyloidin.
