[ad. S. African Du. kor- or knorhaan, f. kor-, knor-, an imitation of the bird's cry (cf. Du. korren to coo, knorren to grumble, snarl) + haan cock. (In Holland korhaan is the woodcock; cf. Ger. kurrhahn heathcock.)]
The name given to certain species of South African bustards, of the family Otididæ.
