imping, vbl. n.|ˈɪmpɪŋ| [f. imp v. + -ing1.] The action of the verb imp; grafting, engrafting; the repairing of a hawk's wing with adscititious feathers. In quot. 1340 concr. a shoot, scion, ‘imp’.
