Anal. 433 The authors [Welter and Gay Lussac] propose to name this new acid, the hyposulphuric, by analogy with the hyposulphurous, to denote that it contains less oxygen than sulphuric acid, and more than sulphurous acid. 1894Roscoe & Schorlemmer Chem.
