hippocrepian, a. (n.) Zool. and Bot.|hɪpəʊˈkriːpɪən| [f. hippo- + Gr. κρηπίς shoe + -ian.] Resembling a horseshoe: spec. applied to the lophophore of certain polyzoans, and so to these polyzoans themselves. b. as n. A hippocrepian polyzoan.
