Hay, n.7|heɪ| The name of William Howard Hay (1866–1940), U.S. physician, used attrib. to designate various methods of medical and dietary treatment advocated by him, as Hay diet, a diet based on the belief that proteins and carbohydrates should not be eaten at the same meal.
