synœcious, a. Bot.|sɪˈniːʃ(ɪ)əs| [f. syn-1 after diœcious, monœcious; cf. Gr. συνοικία a community of persons living together.] Having male and female flowers in the same flower-head, as some Compositæ, or male and female organs in the same receptacle, as some mosses.
