‖ guarda-costa (ˈgɑːdə ˈkɒstə, Sp. ˈgwarda-) Also 8 guard de costa, guarda-coasta. [Sp.; f. guarda- + Sp. costa coast.] A Spanish vessel used for the protection of the coast; a custom-house cutter.
