goombah, n. U.S. slang.|guːmˈbɑː| Also goomba(r), gumbah. [ad. It. compàre godfather, friend, accomplice (prob. repr. dial. pronunc.).] a. A member of a gang of organized criminals; a Mafioso. b. A boss, mentor; occas. spec., a godfather; also, a crony, buddy.
