tummelberry, n.|ˈtʌməlˌbɛrɪ| [f. the name of the river Tummel in Tayside, Scotland + berry n.1] A dark purple soft fruit produced by crossing the tayberry with another hybrid of raspberry and blackberry, and introduced in Scotland in 1984; also, the plant bearing this fruit. Cf. tayberry n.
