Fröhlich|ˈfrøːlɪç| Also Froelich. The name of Alfred Fröhlich, Austrian neurologist (1871–1953), used attrib. and in the possessive to designate a syndrome characterized esp. by obesity and sexual infantilism and caused by a tumour in the pituitary gland.
