folic, a. Biochem.|ˈfəʊlɪk, ˈfɒlɪk| [f. L. fol-ium leaf + -ic.] folic acid: pteroyl(mono)glutamic acid, a vitamin of the B group found in a wide variety of organisms, the deficiency of which in man is associated with anæmia; also, any of the other pteroylglutamic acids.
