tibialis, a. (and n.) Anat.|tɪbɪˈɑːlɪs, -ˈeɪlɪs| [a. L. tībiālis.] Used (also absol. as n.) in the names of various structures situated adjacent to the tibia, esp. the tibialis anterior (formerly tibialis anticus) and tibialis posterior (formerly tibialis posticus), muscles involved in movement of the foot.
