fankle, v. Sc.|ˈfæŋk(ə)l| [f. fank n.2: see -le.] trans. To tangle, entangle; to entrammel (a horse, etc.) with a rope; hence, to get fankled: fig. to lose the thread of a discourse (see Jamieson s.v.).
