eudemonism, -dæmonism|juːˈdiːmənɪz(ə)m| Also 9 eudaimonism. [f. Gr. εὐδαιµονία happiness (f. εὐδαίµων happy, f. εὐ- eu- + δαίµων guardian genius: see demon1) + -ism.] That system of ethics which finds the foundation of moral obligation in the tendency of actions to produce happiness.
