† emplaˈstration Obs. Also 5 emplastracioun, 6 emplaistration, 6 implastration. [ad. L. emplastrātiōnem, noun of action f. emplastrāre: see emplaster v.] 1. A mode of budding trees mentioned by Latin writers; so called from the piece of bark surrounding the bud, which was attached like a ‘plaster’ (L. emplastrum) to the tree.
