▪ I. † ˈsurcle Obs. (Also 7 surcul, 9 surcule.) [ad. L. surculus. Cf. F. surcule.] A small or young shoot of a plant; a sprout, sprig, twig; also, a small branch of a nerve, blood-vessel, etc.
