tripalmitin Chem.|traɪˈpælmɪtɪn| [f. tri- 5 + palmitin: cf. triacetin.] A crystalline substance, also called palmitin or glyceryl tripalmitate, C3H5(C16H31O2)3, occurring in palm-oil and in many animal and vegetable fats and oils, and prepared synthetically by Berthelot.
