stylospore Bot.|ˈstaɪləʊˌspɔə(r)| [a. F. stylospore, f. Gr. στῦλο-ς pillar (see style n. 8) + σπορά spore.] A name for the naked spores in certain fungals, which are produced at the tips of short thread-like cells. Hence styˈlosporous a., pertaining to, of the nature of, a stylospore.
