Dinant, formerly Dinand, a town of Belgium, on the Meuse, ‘wherein copper kettles, etc., are made’ (Cotgr. 1611); so F. dinandier a copper-smith or brazier.] Kitchen utensils of brass, such as were formerly made at Dinant; extended in recent times to the brass-work of the Levant and India.
