deprived, ppl. a.|dɪˈpraɪvd| [f. deprive v. + -ed.] Dispossessed, divested; bereft; subjected to deprivation; esp. dispossessed of a benefice. In modern use freq. applied to children who lack the benefits of normal home life, parental affection, etc.
