- Tom Smothers and Dick Smothers, two brothers who entertain with jokes and humorous songs. Tom often reminds Dick, 'Mother always liked you best.’ Their television series, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (1966-9), was stopped by CBS because of their jokes about religion, drugs and sex, as well as their songs and comments against the Vietnam War. They returned with another television series in the late 1980s.
