释义 | William Kidd/kɪd![]() (1645–1701), Scottish pirate; known as Captain Kidd. Sent to the Indian Ocean in 1695 in command of an anti-pirate expedition, Kidd became a pirate himself. In 1699 he went to Boston in the hope of obtaining a pardon, but was arrested and later hanged in London. |
