From Dalriada (Early Irish Dál Riata/ˌdaːlˈriadə/; Irish Dál Riada, Scottish Gaelic Dàl Riada), the name of an early medieval kingdom encompassing part of the northern coast of Ireland and (later) large parts of the western coast of present-day Scotland + -an.
