Boris Pasternak

/ (1890–1960), Russian poet, novelist, and translator; full name Boris Leonidovich Pasternak. His best-known novel, Doctor Zhivago (1957), describes the experience of the Russian intelligentsia during the Revolution; it was banned in the Soviet Union.
