Gerbera
Gerbera a genus of perennial herbaceous plants of the Compositae family. The stems of Gerbera are shortened and the leaves gathered into a rosette, with a large individual and often brightly colored calathide head. There are about 70 species in the tropical—also, less frequently, in the temperate—areas of Africa and Asia. G. jamesonii, from Natal and Transvaal, is common in floriculture. Its cultivated forms, with very large heads and ligulate flowers, are colored in brilliant or pastel tones. It is used as a potted plant and for cuttings. In the southern USSR it is cultivated in open soil. Gerbera
