Ozhogino

Ozhogino

 

a lake in the northeastern Yakut ASSR, in the Abyi Lowland, near the southern slopes of the Polousnyi Ridge. A shallow lake, it covers an area of 157 sq km. It is fed by melted snow and by rain. It freezes over in late September or early October and breaks up in June. Lake Ozhogino is the source of the Ozhogin River, a left tributary of the Indigirka River.
