[′band ‚pas] (electronics) A range, in hertz or kilohertz, expressing the difference between the limiting frequencies at which a desired fraction (usually half power) of the maximum output is obtained.

band-pass

The width of a band bounded by lower and upper frequencies, giving a specified fraction of the maximum output of an amplifier. Band-pass is expressed in cycles, or hertz (Hz).
