Special Features:The park and its 24-room castle have recently undergone an $11 millionrenovation and restoration. The rugged stone castle, which was designedby actor William Gillette, sits atop a cliff high above the ConnecticutRiver. Travelers to and from the west may want to take theChester-Hadlyme ferry across the river.
