Genichesk

a city in Genichesk Raion, Kherson Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Port on the Sea of Azov. It has a railroad station. Population, 20,000 (1970). The city is the site of a fish cannery, a winery, a concrete reinforcement factory, and a building-materials plant. There is a medical school. Salt is extracted here.
