Eparch, Book of the

Eparch, Book of the

 

an official collection of rules governing the Constantinopolitan guilds and corporations, which were under the supervision of the eparch. The book was apparently compiled in the early tenth century. The latest mention of the Book of the Eparch that is found in historical sources is in the Hexabiblos of the Harmenopulus (14th century).
