Diplachne

a genus of perennial plants of the family Gramineae. The spikelets have two or more blossoms and are bisexual, linear and elongated, almost cylindrical, and gathered in loose panicles. There are approximately 20 species in the tropics and subtropics. D. fusca is found from Egypt and tropical and southern Africa to Australia. Formerly, the genus Diplachne included plants that are now included in the genus Cleistogenes.
