Orthopedics A type of continuous or intermittent traction in which a head halter with weights is worn by the Pt to maintain proper alignment of a fracture of the cervical spine. See Traction.

Traction applied to the cervical spine by applying a force to lift the head or a mobilization technique to distract individual joints of the vertebrae.
