Fibrolit
Fibrolit
a building material made from a compressed and hardened mixture of specially prepared wood shavings (wood-wool) and portland cement or, less often, caustic magnesite. Fibrolit is manufactured in the form of slabs ranging in size to 240 × 55 × 10 cm. Its varied applications include use as heat insulation in the walls of buildings and as a heat-insulating structural material for building partitions and filling in the wooden framework of walls. Fibrolit has a coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.08–0.23 watts/m·°K and a strength under bending of 0.4–1.1 meganewtons/m2.
