Beskid Niski

 

(Low Beskids), mountains in Poland and Czechoslovakia, in the- Carpathians between the Tylicz and Łupków passes. The Beskid Niski are about 100 km long and rise to 1, 001 m on Mount Lackova. They are composed chiefly of flysch and have gentle slopes and rounded peaks. The range is traversed by the Dukla Pass. Oak and beech forests grow on the southern slopes, and beech and coniferous forests cover the northern slopes.
