(ven-trik'yū-lăr fō-nā'shŭn) Voice produced by vibration of the ventricular (vestibular) folds, just above the vocal folds. This may occur as a substitute for, or in addition to, vocal fold vibration, and creates a hoarse, low-pitched voice.
