Sreznevskii, Boris Izmailovich
Born Mar. 19 (31), 1857; died Mar. 24, 1934. Soviet meteorologist. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1920). Son of 1.1. Sreznevskii.
Sreznevskii graduated from the University of St. Petersburg in 1879. From 1882 to 1892 he worked at the Main Physical Observatory and from 1894 to 1918 was a professor at the University of Iur’ev (Tartu). In 1919 he became director of the Kiev Meteorological Observatory. Sreznevskii’s research dealt mainly with synoptic meteorology, hydrography, and agricultural meteorology. He invented a number of meteorological instruments.
