, costocervical artery (kos'tō-sĕr'vi-kăl trŭngk, ahr'tĕr-ē) A short artery that arises from the subclavian artery on each side and divides into deep cervical and superior intercostal branches, the latter dividing usually to form the first and second posterior intercostal arteries.
Synonym(s): truncus costocervicalis [TA] .
