aclinic line
aclinic line[a′klin·ik ′līn] (geophysics) magnetic equator aclinic The line through those points on the earth's surface at which the magnetic dip is zero. The aclinic line is a particular case of an isoclinic line. On this line, a magnetic needle balances horizontally without dipping (i.e., the angle of dip is zero). Also called dip equator, magnetic equator, or aclinic line.
magnetic equatorA line drawn on a map or a chart connecting all points at which the magnetic inclination, or magnetic dip, is zero. A magnetic needle at these places balances horizontally without dipping. Also called an aclinic lineaclinic line
