Călimăneşti
a spa in the Vîlcea District of Rumania. Located in the valley of the Oltul River in the foothills of the South Carpathian Mountains.
Călimăneşti has a mild, moderately humid climate with an annual precipitation of 700 mm and a mean annual temperature of 9.7°C. There are approximately 30 mineral springs at the resort. Most of the spring waters are of the chloride-sodium type and contain hydrogen sulfide (from 1.1 to 88 mg/l). The temperature of the water is 10°-15°C. There are also slightly mineralized hydrocarbonate-chloride-sodium and .hydrocarbonate-sulfate-calcium-sodium-magnesium springs.
The water is used for drinking, baths, inhalations, irrigations, and other purposes. Treatment is provided for individuals suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, kidneys, urinary tract, and the organs of motor and support; metabolic disorders; disorders in peripheral circulation of the blood; and gynecological ailments.
