[′är·bī‚lōs] (mathematics) A plane figure bounded by a semicircle and two smaller semicircles which lie inside the larger semicircle, have diameters along the diameter of the larger semicircle, and are tangent to the larger semicircle and to each other. Also known as shoemaker's knife.
